Over 50 students from 10 secondary schools across Kuching, Padawan, Samarahan, Serian and Bau kickstarted the Sarawak Rocketeer CAN-SAT Challenge with hands-on workshops and a demo session, organised by TEGAS.
Held at Hock Lee Hotel and Politeknik Kuching, participants explored rocket aerodynamics, built launch mechanisms, and programmed timers to prepare for their first rocket launch.
The initiative, in collaboration with UiTM-MTC HEMREL, CENTEXS Sarawak Aerospace Academy and Sarawak Skills, aims to spark interest in STEM, encourage teamwork, and ensure equal learning opportunities for rural and urban students.

* Rocket Launching Day: 28–29 June at TEGAS Digital Village & Politeknik Kuching
* Grand Challenge: 5–6 July at S-CaT Fair 2025, BCCK
Top teams will represent Sarawak at the Malaysia Rocket Competition 2025, with a chance to advance to the international Spaceport America Cup 2025.
